Having the scientific name Capsicum chinense Jacquin, Bhut Jolokia boasts of being among the hottest chilies in the world, hotter than jalapeno & carolina reaper.
Globally popular as Ghost Pepper or Naga Viper Chilli, King Chili etc it has many local names like Bih Jolokia in Assam, Umorok in Manipur, Dorset Naga, Raja Mirchi, Naga Morich.
Though nowadays it is grown all over the world, the natural habitat of Ghost Pepper are the highlands of Nagaland, Manipur & Assam.
You can easily find out the difference in flavour and heat content found in the chilies from these regions and those grown elsewhere.
They are grown by small farmers who are scattered throughout these regions fully organically without the use of any chemical or pesticides.
We collect our Naga Bhut Jolokia from small farmers in Nagaland, and smoke dry them hygienically in the most professional environment in our premise in Assam.
The heat content of Naga Bhut Jolokia also depends on the parent seeds they germinate from. The farmers we procure from, get their parent seeds from the most reliable source of having 1 million SHU or higher.

How to use them?
1. Ghost peppers are directly used as spice in North East Indian to spice up curries & recipes. Just 1/4th of the pod is sufficient to heat up one person food serving.
2. It can be used to make pickles with mustard seeds and oil or any vegetables/fruits to your liking. Pickling it can preserve it for a very long time.
3. You can make Ghost pepper sauce with tomato paste and use it with burgers, pizzas and other food. Alternatively you can make hot bhut jolokia jams with fruits like peach or cherry etc.
4. You can ground it and use it as paprika where you want to use.
WARNING – Was your hands after handling them to avoid burning of eyes, nose, face. Preferably keep it away from young children.
If you keep the seeds for germinating, chances are there that none will germinate as they are smoked dried.
